Main mission and goals
ABBA COUNSELING SERVICES main mission is to help others rise above their circumstances and overcome emotional/mental health problems by following a Biblical map, encouraging them to see their worth and value, and grow their relationship with the Heavenly father, through Christ . We strive to meet this mission with the following local counseling and international outreach goals.
Local goal:
We provide DONATION-BASED professional Christian counseling to people 18yrs and up who cannot afford copays or insurance in Ohio . We believe, if you develop a relationship with God by seeking and understanding him and doing what his Word says, you will be more equipped to handle life situations and emotional/mental health problems. We use prayer and scripture along with CBT and DBT that aligns with Biblical values to help you develop tools to reduce/change your reactions to life's circumstances. At this time we do not charge clients or seek insurance payments for our services we offer. We ask for a Monthly donation from clients who can afford it.
We are working on trying to provide care packages to Local families when funding is available.
International goal:
We provide direct physical, spiritual and emotional outreach to orphans, the destitute, mentally/physically ill individuals. We seek to provide food, necessities, toys games for children in orphanages and at the home for the destitute internationally. We also present the gospel through the example of love using music, stories and testimonies whenever possible.

Office-based (Akron). My home office is a quaint space set up like a living room just behind my home. No close bus route. Parking in driveway is ok.
Virtual Counseling is possible but considered on a case-by-case basis.

We believe a personal relationship with Christ is the foundation and starting point to bring holistic healing. We use a concept called MAPS to help you build a relationship with Christ through biblical, values, scripture and prayer to help you resolve emotional, social and spiritual problems. We also incorporate MAPS with CBT/DBT concepts and interventions that align with Biblical values to help you navigate difficult life experiences when applicable.
Trauma & PTSD
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, anger and hopelessness are a few emotions as well as many physiological responses that can linger after post traumatic events. Ken will help you learn to overcome your traumatic memories and symptoms using biblical values and scriptures, prayer and a combination of psychoeducation, physiological and psychological coping techniques, traumatic event timelines and a narrative format to help you reduce symptoms and regain a present focus to help promote healing. Let your life be about your upward trajectory rather than your tragedy.
Relationships
Though we do not do traditional couples/marriage counseling we provide a brief therapy format where you are provided with the opportunity to acquire new skills to foster relationships using communication skills such as fair fighting rules, cognitive errors common in relationships, EAR technique, boundary setting, assertiveness, making apologies and accepting responsibility along with the 5 love languages and incorporating Biblical principles into your relationships.

At Abba Counseling Services, we believe that more than anything, people need to be loved. We strive to provide a genuine caring atmosphere in therapy in this same manner through sacrifice and giving of ourselves. We believe our Heavenly Father (Abba) provided the prime example of love by sending his Son to die for us, so we could have a relationship with him! He wants the best for us. He provided mankind with an instruction manual for life – The Bible. The Word of God contains everything we as humans need to overcome life’s problems, including mental health and emotional issues.
